WordPress Integration
Learn how to install and configure the Chatwik live chat widget on your WordPress website.
WordPress is a popular Content Management System. If you are hosting your website on WordPress, you can add a Chatwik live chat widget and talk to your visitors in real time using Chatwik's official WordPress plugin.
Installation & Setup
Install the Chatwik Plugin
You can install the official plugin directly from WordPress:
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Plugins → Add New Plugin from the sidebar menu.
- Search for Chatwik Live Chat (or download it from WordPress.org Plugins).
- Click Install Now.
Activate the Plugin
Once installation is complete, click the Activate Plugin button.
Configure Plugin Settings
- In your WordPress Admin Panel, navigate to Settings → Chatwik Settings.
- Enter your Chatwik credentials and configuration preferences:
- Website Token & Installation URL: Copy your Website Token and Base URL (
https://app.chatwik.com) from your Chatwik account (Settings → Inboxes → select website inbox → Configuration tab). If you need to create a website channel first, refer to the Website Live Chat Setup guide. - Widget Design: Choose between Standard Design and Expanded Bubble Design.
- Widget Position: Select widget placement on your site (Left or Right).
- Language: Choose your preferred widget display language (English is default).
- Launcher Text: Custom text displayed on the bubble (optional, when using expanded bubble design).
- Click Save Changes to apply your configuration.
Verify Installation
Visit your live WordPress website and verify that the Chatwik live chat widget appears on your pages.
